The future of remote work in nursing begins with case management. I recently revamped my resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile to focus in on this niche field within the profession of nursing. I based this decision on my observations on what jobs offered fully remote positions. It appears there is a growing need for case management nurses in multiple parts of healthcare including in-hospital and insurance companies. This is an important aspect of healthcare because it really comes down to how costs and healthcare is managed. This field requires a strong clinical background. With all the oncoming changes, a very dynamic skillset and ability to be flexible is required as technological changes are rapidly transforming this space. Several remote positions are now crossing state lines as insurance companies are acquiring smaller companies and new territories are introduced. My decision to obtain a multi-state compact license was integral for my recent interviews. I am emphasizing experience and skills that are directly transferrable to their workflows. I’m hoping to land a position within the next couple of months. It turns out that the resume expert I hired was well worth the money. I’ve been receiving a ton of interest through private messages and emails with opportunities catering to my profile. I expect the best and with God’s help, will attain the best. If you are a nurse looking for remote work, case management is definitely the way to go.
